Licensed To Practice In ALL Military Courts
After leaving the military, Wes immediately went into private practice, seeking to continue representing service members and Department of Defense employees in courts-martial and employment actions, including appeals to the Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB) and the EEOC. Wes successfully represented an employee fired for use of marijuana before the MSPB, wherein the employee was reinstated to his job and received a year of backpay. The case was the first of its kind after marijuana was legalized in Colorado and Washington. Wes is passionate about holding the government accountable, both in criminal matters and employment matters ensuring that individuals are treated fairly and respectfully. Wes aggressively litigates each case, always seeking the best results for his clients.
Consider this recent recommendation by one of Wes’s former clients:
“I was facing 11 yrs in a military court. Almost everyone on my installation and my unit were against me due to lies and rumors; no one knew the facts. I didn’t feel comfortable with my attorney given to me by the military (because of lack of experience). I called around and I was running into lawyers who wanted $100 just to talk to me and give me a quote. I had one law firm say I would need to pay $10,000 and another $10,000 before trial. I was overwhelmed with stress. Then I was referred to Wes by another law firm who I initially contacted. The first time I called him he made me feel completely comfortable. It was clear he wasn’t all about money. We met face to face at my house and talked about my case to see if he could help me. He told me he didn’t want me to waste my money if he could not help me and that is the first time I have ever heard that from a lawyer. In the end, he ensured the charges were dismissed and I got to continue with my military career. My biggest regret was not calling wes sooner, while I was being investigated. If you get Wes to represent you he will give you 110% and he will be doing more than what you are paying him for. He will be thinking about your case late at night texting you, calling you. He makes you feel like he is only working for you and has no other cases on his plate. If I do need legal representation again, I will call him first without hesitation. He is one of the best lawyers I have ever met. Now I consider him a friend.”
Wes has served in nearly every capacity within the military justice system, including: Article 32 Hearing Officer; recorder on administrative separation boards; military defense counsel; military respondent’s counsel for administrative separation boards; legal advisor for separation boards; oversight of base level military justice program; civilian defense counsel; military prosecutor; deployed staff judge advocate; advisor to commanders on commander-directed/15-6 investigations, and; investigating officer for various investigations (conscientious objector, commander-directed investigation/15-6, etc.).
