James “Jimmy” Lewis comes from a long line of service members including his grandfather who served as a Colonel in the United States Army. Jimmy has devoted a substantial portion of his practice in assisting active duty service members and veterans in complex military administrative matters such as retirement accounts, correction of military records, and military related family law issues. Jimmy specializes in military divorce and the nuances of the military retirement system.
In addition, Jimmy’s practice areas include all administrative aspects of military law, including but not limited to administrative separation boards, discharge review boards, boards for correction of military records, grade determination review boards, and other adverse administrative proceedings in the military.

Background
Jimmy attended Auburn University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science focusing on Pre-Law and Conflict Resolution. Jimmy received his law degree from John Marshall Law School in 2014, where he began to learn litigation skills under two Cobb County, GA District Attorneys. Jimmy entered private practice in 2015 where he assists active duty service members and veterans in complex military administrative matters such as retirement accounts, correction of military records, and military-related family law issues. In 2019, Jimmy co-authored a book on the intricacies of the military retirement system and he dedicates much of his practice to assisting service members in civil legal areas.
Jimmy is a member in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia and he is licensed to practice law in all military courts.
