Brad Dixon
(Attorney)
Brad Dixon is a household name in the Army JAG Corps. In fact, a senior Army JAG officer once commented that “there can be no clearer sign of Brad’s reputation than the fact that the best trial practitioners in the Army rely upon him more than anyone else.”

World Class
Brad attended West Virginia University on a full ROTC scholarship. He graduated in 2006 and commissioned into the Army as a Second Lieutenant, but he was granted an educational delay to attend law school.
Brad first realized that he was called to be a litigator while studying at the West Virginia University College of Law. There, he served as the President of the Lugar Mock Trial Association, and he later graduated in 2009 with the honor of being designated a member of the Order of Barristers (an organization dedicated to acknowledging the nation’s top oral advocates among law school graduates).
Brad is well known for his experience with prosecuting and defending sexual assault cases. One senior Army litigator commented that “Brad’s mastery of the Army’s sexual assault trial process is unparalleled.” Another referred to Brad as a “master trial attorney” and stated that “Brad has established himself as the ‘go to’ person when there are difficult cases to try and complex criminal law issues to be resolved.”
Brad’s Achievements
Defense Counsel (a Major) in the Army Reserves
Army 23 Special Victims Prosecutor
Special Victims Prosecutor
In working his way from Second Lieutenant to Major, Brad began his journey as a Trial Counsel, or general crimes prosecutor, at Fort Bliss, Texas. There, he prosecuted every court-martial arising from the 11th Air Defense Artillery Brigade, and he served as the legal advisor for the brigade commander, as well as the 32d AAMDC commander (a Brigadier General). He was also selected to handle the most complex cases arising from other brigades at Fort Bliss. There, he tried cases stemming from drug use to murder.
Later, Brad was hand selected to serve as one of the Army’s 23 Special Victims Prosecutors. In that role, Brad prosecuted every sex crime within the state of Virginia, and he was designated to handle several high profile cases in various other jurisdictions as well. At the same time, Brad was often called upon to travel the world to train the Army’s prosecutors on the most complicated Article of the UCMJ (Article 120). Brad has conducted training at the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, the Drug Enforcement Agency, and the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center.
After serving as a Special Victims Prosecutor for three years at Fort Lee, Virginia, Brad served as an Expert Criminal Litigator and Trainer at the Army Trial Counsel Assistance Program. There, Brad trained every prosecutor in the entire Army on the prosecution of every Article of the UCMJ. In fact, there’s a good likelihood that he personally trained your prosecutor. He specialized in training others in the prosecution of sexual assault. It was there that Brad realized his passion for defending those wrongfully charged with offenses of the UCMJ. He saw, first hand, the injustices that were all too often imposed upon innocent Soldiers.
As a result, Brad requested to transfer to a Defense Counsel position at Fort Stewart, Georgia. He visited the Chief of Trial Defense Services and requested the transfer. He had orders within a week. At Fort Stewart, he successfully defended numerous clients accused of crimes ranging from AWOL to Rape.
Brad continues to serve as a Defense Counsel (a Major) in the Army Reserves. He has dedicated his practice and his life to the defense of those innocently accused by a corrupt system of military justice.
